SYNOPSIS
Julia, a successful conductor, and Georg are desperate for a child until Dr. Vilfort gives them hope. After successful treatment in his clinic, Julia becomes pregnant. But the birth turns out differently than expected and the baby is taken away immediately. When she finally receives the child, she feels strangely distant. She even doubts whether it really is her child.
Johanna Moder is an Austrian screenwriter and director. Her feature film debut, HIGH PERFORMACE, won the prestigious Audience Award at the 2014 Max Ophüls Festival.
Her latest feature film ONCE WERE REBELS (2020), had its international premiere at the Zurich Film Festival and was awarded the Ecumenical Jury Prize by the Zurich churches. In addiction, she revise the Best Director Award at the 2020 Max Ophüls Festival and the 2020 Thomas Plush Screenwriting Award.
Most recently, she directed her first TV series, SCHOOL OF CHAMPIONS, a co-production of ORF, BR, and SFR, as well as the Passau crime film ZEIT ZU BETEN with Marie Leuenberger and Michael Ostrowski. She is currently working on her next feature film, MOTHERS BABY, an international co-production between Austria, Germany and Switzerland starring Marie Leuenberger, Hans Löw and Claes Bang.
