SYNOPSIS
The film is the personal story of three generations: the (late) grandmother, the father and the daughter, who is directing the film. It focuses on the trans-generational transfer of traumatic experiences. It’s a spiritual road movie through deep and diffuse layers of feelings resulting from historical transformations in north-eastern Europe.

Bettina Henkel, who was born in 1966 in Freiburg i. Br. (Germany), lives and works in Vienna where she has been teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts since 2000.
She is head of the Media Lab and Research Lab Film & Television there. After training as a dancer she studied History of Art in Munich, Painting at the Nuremburg Academy of Fine Arts and Visual Media Design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with Peter Weibel.
